For The Weekend: Afrojack, Swedish House Mafia

22 Oct

Afrojack has definitely been making his mark on the electronic scene this year. From Bonnaroo to the L.A. Electric Daisy Carnival , he’s been hittin’ people hard with his great production and better sets. The first song, “Bangduck Got It,” is a new bootleg of his own with “Bangduck” and the vocals from an Angger Dimas remix of “She got it” by Vandalism. The original was already awesome, so the vocals on top make it even better! Also, you might have heard one of his newer singles, “Take Over Control,” which an official video just came out for, and you can check out this remix of it that puts a different groovy vibe to it (without the laser gun sounding synths).

Swedish House Mafia seems to never disappoint and this new edit of a Fedde Le Grand track is no exception. I think the title speaks for itself…(Hint: Empire of the Sun- Walking On A Dream/Eurythmics- Sweet Dreams)

Imogen Heap- Hide & Seek (Otto Knows Remix)***Best Hide & Seek Remix I’ve heard

Also, if you haven’t heard already… Daft Punk made their first appearance in 3 years last night at a Phoenix show at the Madison Square Garden in New York. When I heard this news, naturally, I was overcome with jealousy of all who were lucky enough to be in attendance. Can’t wait for their tour next year!

Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP

By now, it seems like everyone knows the song “We No Speak Americano,” especially when I hear it in the gym that only plays the same top 40 hits over and over. Needless to say, all the songs start to get a little repetitive much like the super catchy lyrics, “pa pa l’ americano”. So, today I have some new songs to keep your head bobbin’ (from side to side) to the groovy beats of Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP!
