Monday Goodies #12

28 Nov

Weekly update here, Thanksgiving is over and I’m still eating turkney, nom nom!

First up is an original from Loops Of Fury, a UK based duo, that is bringing grime to the electro scene. I’m really feeling this one, the romantic vocals into a furious drop of bass gets me every time.

Loops Of Fury – I Need

Next up is the Brazillian duo known as Felguk. Their latest release, Bassive, is just has the title sounds, massive bass. Oh yeah, bass!

Felguk – Bassive

Lastly we have someone I’ve had my eye on for awhile and is now springing to the forefronts of edm as we speak. Alvin Risk has been putting out dubstep with a very unique sound to it. Fresh of remixing Earthquakey People and Kill The Noise, he throws out this moombahcore blasta with his signature synth rattling the drop. Be sure to play this one out.

Oh My – Dirty Dancer (Alvin Risk Remix)

Trumpdisco – Sweat It Out/Common Trolls

21 Nov

Disco-rave duo Trumpdisco will be releasing their new EP on Novermber 26th. For the meanwhile they posted two songs to tease us for the next week. So keep an eye out for this release because it is truely next level stuff.

Skrillex – 20 Minute Mix from BBC Radio 1

17 Nov

So I could just post all the new Skrillex rips that are floating around the internet, but that wouldn’t be true WESTLACNT style. So instead I give you Skrillex‘s 20 minute mix with Zane Lowe on the famous BBC Radio 1 (BTW most of these rips are from this mix). The track listing is as follows:

1. Skrillex – Cat Rats

2. KOAN Sound – Meanwhile In The Future

3. Skrillex – Syndicate VIP

4. Skrillex – ‘Devil’s Nest’ feat 12th Planet

Two Door Cinema Club – What You Know (Feed Me Cover)

15 Nov

If you haven’t heard this catchy tune by Irish based Indie-Rock band Two Door Cinema Club, then I truly don’t know where you have been the past year. Anyways, Feed Me decided to put his monsterous spin on What You Know and turn it into dirty dubstep. I personally have loved the amount of remixes that have come forth from this song, but I might have to say this is the best one I’ve heard to date, besides the original of course.

Two Door Cinema Club – What You Know (Feed Me Cover)

Two Door Cinema Club – What You Know

Bonus Track:

Two Door Cinema Club – What You Know (Nighty Max Remix)

Death Cab for Cutie – Codes and Keys Remixes

14 Nov

;”>Death Cab For Cutie has been releasing remixes off their upcoming remix EP of Codes and Keys, due out November 21nd. The first was the Cut Copy remix of Doors Unlocked and Open, which is just phenomenal in my opinion.

Death Cab For Cutie – Doors Unlocked and Open (Cut Copy Remix)

RAC has a knack for taking indie songs and pumping them up to sound a little more dancey, so it is no suprise Death Cab for Cutie looked to the Remix Artist Collective to remix the song Boys.

Death Cab For Cutie – Boys (RAC Remix)

Everything Dillon Francis touches turns to pure gold. This remix is no different. Dillon put his moombah-electro “Nu Jump Up” feel on the indie soon to be hit and the outcome is calmness and bliss into party and bass.

Death Cab For Cutie – Underneath the Sycamore (Dillon Francis Remix)

Keep an eye out for Death Cab‘s new album to be released on November 22nd, and keep up with the artist in the meanwhile follow them on Facebook & SoundCloud

Halloween Breakdown! Trick or Treat?

27 Oct

Halloween is this weekend, well technically this Monday but I know we will all be celebrating this weekend at our respective festivals, night clubs, or house parties. I’ve put together some tunes to prepare you for this spooktactular weekend. Turn up the volume!

Alesso – Raise Your Head (Halloween Preview)

Cazzette –  The Shining (Original Halloween Mix)

Misfitsb Halloween (Figure‘s Moombacore Edit)

TAI – Halloween Mix   *** I highly suggest playing this one out ***

Mysto & Pizzi – Where Is Love (Lucky Date Remix)

25 Oct

One thing I love about many up and coming producers today is that they are genre-less. They do not let a single genre define their music. Chicago based producer, Lucky Date, is one of those producers, he blends many aspects of EDM together to make his music. Although this remix has been around since the beginning of summer, he finally released it on Beatport. It fuses house, electro house, and culminates into a dirty dubstep drop. It even confused the Beatport staff and got labeled in the House section, so go help a great producer get charted and buy the song if you like it.

Mysto & Pizzi – Where Is Love (Lucky Date Remix)

Bonus Track:

Kimberly Caldwell – Desperate Girls & Stupid Boys (Lucky Date Remix)

Kaskade – Fire & Ice

24 Oct

Kaskade is releasing his 7th album tomorrow, but I thought I would get a jump start and stream the whole thing here. Straight off of winning “Best American DJ” Ryan Raddon is on a roll. The album, entitled Fire & Ice, has collaborations with Skrillex, Dada Life, Skylar Grey, Neon Trees, Dan Black, and more. It is a two side CD that has 10 songs on the “Fire” side that are more uptempo “at the club beats” and then has an “Ice” side which are Kaskade‘s remixes of the “Fire” side, they are more chillout & ambient verisons of the “Fire” side. I think it is a fantastic idea, album, and really brings out the two sides of Kaskade‘s music, but you be the judge. Buy it on iTunes if you enjoy the streams!

Disc 1 – Fire

1. Kaskade feat. Mindy Gledhill – Eyes

2. Kaskade with Rebecca & Fiona – Turn It Down

3. Kaskade feat. Neon Trees – Lessons In Love

4. Kaskade & SkrillexLick It

5. Kaskade feat. Haley – Llove

6. Kaskade feat. Marcus Bently – Let Me Go

7. Kaskade feat. Quadron – Waste Love

8. Kaskade & Dada Life feat. Dan Black – ICE

9. Kaskade & Inpetto with Late Night Alumni – How Long

10. Kaskade feat. Skylar Grey – Room For Happiness

Disc 2 – Ice

1. Kaskade feat. Mindy Gledhill – Eyes (Kaskade’s ICE Mix)

2. Kaskade with Rebecca & Fiona – Turn It Down (Kaskade’s ICE Mix)

3. Kaskade feat. Neon Trees – Lessons In Love (Kaskade’s ICE Mix)

4. Kaskade & SkrillexLick It (Kaskade’s ICE Mix)

Sound Remedy

20 Oct

So procrastination has kicked in on this Thursday evening and I’ve found Westlacnct worthy material for you all that can’t wait. Sound Remedy is churning out songs on a daily basis now and I personally can’t wait to click play when I see a new song up. The latest is a remix of Boys Noize‘s track Arcade Robot. I would normally say leave the Boys Noize track alone, but I am very glad Sound Remedy didn’t. This track has a 110 bpm moombahton feel to it but incorporates dubstep. It is very pleasing on the ears, so listen up and download for free from the Soundcloud link or by clicking the song title.

Boys Noize – Arcade Robot (Sound Remedy Remix)

Also about a week ago Sound Remedy released an original song which has ambient vocals in the buildup, and drops into a Electro bassline. Again listen and download if you like it.

Sound Remedy – Fighters (Feat. Invaderz)

House! House! House!

19 Oct

There has been a pretty overwhelming flow of house bangers coming into my iTunes this week, and for me that is unusual. I figured since I will probably be pretty busy for the next couple of days I would give you guys your house dosage for awhile.

Duck Sauce – Big Bad Wolf (Gesaffelstein Remix)

Moby – After (Tommy Trash Remix)

Dirty South & Those Usual Suspects – Walking Alone

Bingo Players – Rattle

Coldplay – Paradise (Fedde Le Grand Remix)

The M Machine – Promise Me A Rose Garden/Glow

14 Oct

Although we still don’t know a lot about The M Machine, we do know that these guys rock. Other than that they hail from my hometown of San Francisco and the rumor that it is Pance Party‘s new project we know relatively nothing. Nonetheless, they are set to release their first EP, Promise Me a Rose Garden/Glow, on October 18th, this Tuesday on OWSLA. However they have already posted songs on their own Soundcloud. Glow is more of a chillout song with some good vocals and Promise Me A Rose Garden starts off similar but drops into a heavy Electro bassline. Check it out.

The M Machine – Promise Me A Rose Garden

The M Machine – Glow

And their first released song Trafalgar is just as spectacular if you haven’t checked it out already.

Fatboy Slim – Ya Mama (Push the Tempo) (Moguai Remix)

11 Oct

Yesterday Moguai released his Electro House rendition of Fatboy Slim‘s Ya Mama (Push the Tempo). It definitely is getting me really excited for the end of the month and Hard Haunted Mansion. Fatboy Slim also released his DJ chart on Beatport which got me thinking he is going to tear it up at Hard.

Fatboy Slim – Ya Mama (Push the Tempo) (Moguai Remix)

Speaking of Hard Haunted Mansion, our good friends over at Gotta Dance Dirty posted an exclusive mix by Clockwork promoting Hard Haunted Mansion. Its pretty darn good and got me even more pumped for the end of the month, so I thought I’d share it with you all. Enjoy.

Monday Goodies #6

10 Oct

Here are a couple songs to help you finish off your Monday and get your week started off right.

First off, Justice put up two songs from their upcoming album, Audio, Video, Disco this weekendI can’t wait to hear the full album. Here is Cannon, the other song is called Newlands if you want to look it up, I strongly encourage you to.

Justice – Cannon

Flux Pavillion did a remix of Example‘s song Midnight Run. Although it is not what we are used to from Flux, I enjoy the different sounds and still enjoy this song just like all of his others.

Example – Midnight Run (Flux Pavillion Remix)

The Knocks have been hard at work on their EP entitled Brightside and today they gave us their first track off the EP that is set to release on iTunes on October 18th. Save the date.

The Knocks – Brightside

Stumbled across this Aylen remix of Avicii‘s song Blessed earlier and Im really digging it. Act quick and download it from his soundcloud.

Avicii – Blessed (Aylen Remix)

Can’t leave you guys without a banger, so I included Midnight Conspiracy‘s latest release, Discord, which has been on repeat all weekend for me.

Midnight Conspiracy – Discord

Camo & Krooked – Cross the Line

9 Oct

Austrian producers Camo & Krooked released their 14 track LP on Hospital Records entitled Cross The Line last week. The tracks have been just sitting and waiting for me to listen to, I finally got around to listening to them this morning and it was the exact wake up to this slow Sunday I needed. The album has a wide variety of bass music ranging from liquid Drum & Bass, to Electro, to Dubstep. I was never that big of a fan of Drum & Bass but when done right the product is, in my opinion, something that pumps you up more than Dubstep ever can. The production quality on this album truly impresses me and if I could post the whole album I would, but here are a couple of songs to give you a sample of Camo & Krooked‘s latest release. I hope it helps you out of the weekend glow like it did for me.

Camo & Krooked – Run Riot

Camo & Krooked – Far Away

Camo & Krooked – All Falls Down (Feat. Shaz Sparks)

Camo & Krooked – Making the Call (Feat. TC)

Don’t forget to pick up the whole album from iTunes, it is seriously worth it.
